About Linda Bernhard
The art of Linda Bernhard reflects her talent in the use of both oil and watercolors representing a variety of subjects and styles. Many of her oil paintings are reminiscent of the French post impressionists. Extensive travels , especially in the south of France, have greatly influenced her work resulting in an imaginative interpretation having an enchanting allure. Her paintings have a playful and whimsical attitude inviting the viewer to come closer and visit the gardens or romantic interiors. Perspectives are often altered with a childlike quality to create tension and a departure from reality with a unique vision. Linda has created an instantly recognizable style and is known for her use of vivid color and brilliantly contrasted harmony.
Art studies include the National Academy of Design in NYC, Art Students League NYC, Silvermine Art Guild of Connecticut, and many private studies. She is a graduate of the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and has had many one woman and group exhibits. A series of multimedia works have been reproduced and sold commercially. Her works are in private collections in the United States and in Europe.
In addition to being a painter, Linda is also an accomplished photographer and has worked as a photojournalist for the Miami Herald in Florida and Brooks Community Newspapers in Connecticut. She has since become a travel photographer of people and places with an emphasis on infrared.
